Chapter Two: The SDW

This story all started a little less than 12 months ago with a tweet saying “I may have just done something a little bit silly”. I started writing as I thought it was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience & I wanted to document it, to remember it, to capture my thoughts, feelings & emotions. A story with a start, a middle & an end, race day, the NDW50 2017.

I should have known better.

In the same way that my one marathon has turned into nine, my one ultra is going to be joined by another. The South Downs Way 50, the sister to the North Downs Way 50, in April 2018.

I couldn’t resist.

I’m looking forward to it already.

My writing has always been for me, I am going to carry on writing as there is a new chapter to the story.

I’ve never been to the South Downs. It’s a new adventure. A new place to explore, to experience, to photograph & to get lost in.

I know I can run 50 miles. I now want to see what I can do over 50 miles.

A little over nine months. I cannot wait.
